On Apple TV, click to show the controls, then press down for Recently Watched, up to 50 channels you've had on. On the Mac, R shows them. On iPhone and iPad, Recently Watched is the clock button in full screen.

Pausing and rewinding

Press play/pause to pause live TV. Strand keeps around half an hour of the channel you're on, so you can pause, rewind and skip with left and right, then JUMP TO LIVE to catch up.

Watching from the start

If your provider keeps an archive of a channel (catch-up), select a programme that's already started or finished and choose Play from Beginning. Play from Live goes back to now. On the Mac these are Play from Start and Watch Live.

Catch-up times come from your provider. If programmes start at the wrong point, change Catch-up Offset in Live TV settings from Automatic.

The controls

  • Audio & Subtitles: other languages and subtitles, when the channel has them. Extra soundtracks can take a few seconds after a channel starts to appear.
  • Sources: another copy of the same channel, if your playlist has more than one.
  • MULTIVIEW: see Multiview.
  • More: Reload the stream, or Identify Song.

Reminders

On iPhone, iPad and the Mac, select an upcoming programme and choose Remind Me. You get a notification before it starts.

Chromecast

On iPhone and iPad, tap the AirPlay button in the live player and choose Chromecast. The phone pauses while the TV plays. A few channels can't be sent this way: ones whose provider needs special sign-in details on every request.
